Special delivery for Alt pupils
Date published: 08 March 2013
THE Chronicle made a special delivery to Alt Primary School to coincide with a page of pupil-produced news appearing in the paper.
The children were excited to see the Chronicle van arrive full of their very own newspaper supply.
Years 3 and 4 from the school had been working hard to write the news pages all about their efforts to support the ARC community centre. The stories raised awareness of the centre as part of the class topic “Cheering For Charity”.
Pupils and teachers arranged to present the Chronicles to parents at a special finale at the school, at which the youngsters performed a special version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” linked to ARC’s rainbow logo.
The project was organised by Chronicle Community Outreach, which works with schools to produce news stories aiding literacy and citizenship.
