ALMOST 1,000 pupils were sent home from the new £25.5 million Oasis Academy Oldham because of a leak — only six months after it opened.
The leak, in the roof of the Hollins Road building, affected the boilers and heating system.
Around 990 pupils were sent home, but almost 300 preparing for GCSE exams were moved to another part of the building so studies could contiinue.
The school reopened this morning.
The leak came a week after hundreds of pupils were sent home from the £26.4 million Waterhead Academy, which opened in November, when part of a window blew off in high winds.
