Four arrested in assault probe

POLICE have made four arrests in connection with a vicious assault on two teenagers in Newton Heath.
The boy and girl, both 15, were badly injured in an attack by a gang of men in Briscoe Lane on the afternoon of Saturday, March 2.
Three cars pulled up and around 12 men attacked a group of youths. The boy was left with a broken arm and facial injuries; the girl a broken cheekbone and other facial injuries.
The thugs drove off in a silver Peugeot 306, a black Volkswagen Passat and a dark coloured Vauxhall Astra towards Ten Acres Lane.
As a result of several calls from the public, police went to five addresses in the Openshaw, Crumpsall and Moss Side areas anda rrested four men on suspicion of wounding with intent. They have been bailed until May 9.
