CASH being pumped into primary schools must be spent on a legacy, Oldham teachers have urged.
The plea came after the prime minister pledged to hand out £150 million to schools for sport, with Oldham getting £769,600.
All Oldham primary schools can expect to receive money: a school with 250 pupils around £9,250 for two years.
Vicky Dean, Oldham’ partnership development manager, said expectations had originally been of around £3,000 per school.
She said: “This is a significant investment — much more than we anticipated and fantastic news. We must make sure the cash is spent in a way that has long-term impact.
