A CARE worker who came out of retirement because she missed the residents slapped a 94-year-old dementia sufferer just weeks after starting her new job.
Kay Clark (72), of Beech Avenue, Chadderton, was seen twice by colleagues striking a resident at EachStep dementia care home in Blackley.
Clark, who had more than 24 years’ experience, was reported by three colleagues who told management of “unacceptable” displays of violence and verbal threats.
Clark started work as a care assistant at the home last June and the attacks took place in August and September, when she as suspended.
Clark told Manchester magistrates she had come out of retirement as she “missed her job”.
She denied three assaults but was found guilty on two counts and handed a 12-month conditional discharge.
