Boxing legend has knockout appeal

PLEASED to meet you: Angela Longsden, Chadderton neighbourhood manager with Sugar Ray Leonard and Councillor Graham Shuttleworth
A BOXING legend surprised youngsters eager to take up the sport when he dropped in on the opening of a new Oldham club.
Sugar Ray Leonard, who won world titles in five divisions, turned up at Chadderton Boxing Club to give inspirational advice — and treated open-mouthed club members to a brief example of his skills. Youngsters had turned up to the club on the Broadway Business Park expecting only coaching sessions from owner Jason Wallace and his colleague Noel Collins. The club officially opened its doors on Saturday with the help of Lonsdale champion Ensley Bingham and British Middleweight Masters champ Warren Tansey.
For more information contact Jason on 0161-284 2244.
