Blackpool bike-ride challenge
ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD Jack Ireland will be pedalling for pounds when he rides his bike all the way from his Denshaw home to Blackpool.
The Delph School pupil is taking on the challenge to raise money for his two favourite charities — the MS Society and Francis House Children's Hospice.
Jack’s aunt is 24 and has been living with multiple sclerosis for a decade.
The route Jack will be take is nearly 60 miles, finishing at Blackpool Tower.
Jack said: “I want to do something that helps raise money for charities that help other people. I hope my donations will make a difference.
“I think that riding to Blackpool will be a tough challenge but I will make it. I have trained by cycling up the Nont Sarahs road out of Denshaw and around Saddleworth, and hopefully that will help me on the ride.”
