Missing boy Ommar Farook
FEARS are growing for the welfare of a missing 13-year-old boy who has family in Oldham.
Police in Shrewsbury are appealing for help from the public as they attempt to trace Ommar Farook who has gone missing from the town.
He has not been seen since he ran away from carers at 4pm on Monday while out shopping at the Meole Brace Retail Park.
Ommar was last seen making off towards the rear of the TK Maxx store.
Since running away from his carers Ommar has not been seen and no-one has been able to contact him.
A police spokesman said: “We are very concerned about Ommar and would like to find him as soon as we can.
“He has not been seen since he went missing and although Ommar may be able to fend for himself, we are concerned he is vulnerable because of his age.
“Ommar has family in Oldham and we believe he may be trying to travel north. However, there is also every possibility that he remains in the Shrewsbury area.
“Ommar is described as being Asian, around 5ft 5ins tall, with a stocky build and as having black hair.
“Anyone who knows where Ommar is, or who believes they may have seen him since Monday, is asked to contact West Mercia Police as soon as possible on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 156N 250313.”
