Woods walk is going to be so sweet

CELEBRATE Easter with a woodland walk and a chocolately surprise.
The Friends of Dunwood Park have organised the family event — including a toddlers’ easter egg rummage — from 1 to 3.30pm on Easter Sunday.
Participants will have to find 20 bird plaques hanging in the Dunwood Park woodland.
A map and a tick list will help guide families along the woodland paths in search of the birds.
At the end of the walk children (under-16 must be with an adult) can claim a sweet treat.
Cath Jones, chair of the group, said: “We ran this walk for the first time last year, so many people came and they enjoyed it so much we decided we must repeat it. Lots of families come to Dunwood Park and play on the swings but many have never ventured into the woodland which makes Dunwood Park so special.
“Our Easter Walk is a real opportunity to discover the free fun to be had simply exploring nature for an hour.
“But please remember the woodland paths are natural so it is a day for sensible shoes.”
The Friends of Dunwood Park will run a café in the community room on the day, serving drinks, cakes and biscuits.
Volunteers from the local community and Shaw and Crompton Parish festivities.
