A CAT owner has been left devastated after one of his beloved animals was shot three times with a pellet gun.

Nessa’s injuries were so severe, vets had to remove her eye.

Carl Boswell, of Glenfield Close, Clarksfield, woke on Wednesday to find the three-year-old cat covered in blood.

“I thought she might have been in a fight so I took her to the vet. They thought she might have been in a road accident.

“They found three pellets embedded into her. I’m devastated.”

Vets removed a pellet from her stomach, but another was lodged so deeply inside the animal’s jaw her left eye had to be removed.

The other, lodged in her shoulder blade, can’t be removed - it mightcause permanent damage that could prevent the cat from walking.

Carl - who may have to pay up to £1,000 for Nessa’s treatment, is eager to alert other cat owners.

“The vet said this was the third attack she’s seen in a few weeks.

“I want to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
