Success runs and runs...

A NEW 10k race is being launched on the back of last year’s successful Mill Town to Moors Oldham half marathon.
Runners will take a route from Oldham High Street to Shaw and back on Saturday, June 23.
Race organisers Oldham Community Leisure believe the fantastic response to the half marathon means many more people would like to take part over a less-arduous course.
Alan Keane, senior health & physical activity development officer at OCL, said: “It’s also a good opportunity for runners to raise money for charity. The new 10k will also be the ideal training event for people running the half-marathon in October.”
Winner of the first Mill Town to Moors Oldham Half Marathon last year was Oldham-raised Commonwealth Games athlete Andi Jones. He said: “A 10k race is an exciting move. Hopefully another big sporting event in the town can bring together the whole community.”
