Jo Mitchell receives her award from Paul Wood
A LOCAL nurse has won a national School Nurse of the Year award.
Joanne Mitchell (41) from Chadderton, has worked for the Rochdale Schools Health Team for 15 years, most recently as a school health practitioner, working with 16 to 19 year olds in colleges across Rochdale.
She is a champion of school nursing at local, regional and national level.
The annual awards recognise groups, organisations and individuals for their contribution to community nursing and practice. Joanne’s award marked her commitment and for helping to raise the profile of school nursing.
She said: “It’s a real privilege to know your work is valued and recognised.”
