Diggle digger drama

THIEVES abandoned a stolen van in Diggle this morning.
Witnesses reported seeing the driver trying to pull a digger on a trailer. But the thieves panicked on Huddersfield Road, near the Horse and Jockey pub, crashed, and damaged the trailer.
Thieves fled leaving the van’s engine running and windscreen smashed.
The vehicle, whose number plates had been removed, had been reported stolen in Huddersfield at 6.15am.
