Eunice Lunn is 108 on Sunday
A woman believed to be Oldham’s oldest resident celebrates her 108th birthday on Sunday.
Eunice Lunn, who has lived at Ashbourne residential home, Holts, since 2000, was born in 1905 in Holyhead, Anglesey — one of six brothers and sisters.
Eunice went into nursing at 18 as a midwife, and later became a health visitor. She met husband Hubert after World War II and they spent much of their married life in Whalley Range.
Deputy manager at the home, Sharon Richardson, said: “I’ve known Eunice since she came to live with us in 2000. She’s a lovely lady, always very polite and well spoken. She’s always nicely dressed and well presented.
“She’s done a lot in her life and has been through a lot as well. She’s in very good health, though her sight and hearing are poor.
“Eunice is still going strong, it’s like she’s invincible. We just try and keep her as happy as we can.”
