Gang turned on each other
Date published: 09 April 2013
GANG members who robbed three children at knifepoint turned on themselves — and one ended up being stabbed.
The trio of youngsters in Copster Hill Park on Saturday was approached by three men, one of whom pulled a knife, grabbed a 12-year-old boy and demanded his mobile phone.
The man threatened the boy’s friends, threw a girl to the floor and held the other victim against a fence, demanding their phones
One of the gang told his friend to calm down - but the offender stabbed him in the shoulder before all three ran off with the phones.
The three are described as white, in their late teens or early 20s and skinnily built. They wore dark clothing and balaclavas or scarves.
Detective Constable Sam Blackwood, of Oldham Police, said: “All three victims have been left traumatised. The aggression this one man showed is shocking; what is more unbelievable is that he turned on one of his own when he was told to stop using excessive force.”
