A DAD is hoping to make his daughter’s dream come true — by holding a fundraising football and funday.
Ellen Godfrey (12), who has cerebral palsy, dreams of being able to play out on bikes with her little sister Katie, but needs a specially-adapted tricycle, costing around £2,000.
Her father Mickey Booth is holding a fundraising football match with a difference to help rack up the funds on Sunday.
His Sunday League team Redstar CCBC is taking on a team of... their wives and girlfriends.
He said: “We thought it would be a bit of fun. We know there might be some tough tackling going on so we’ve got a local referee to help out.
“We really want to get Ellen get a bike but they are so expensive and we’re finding it really hard to save that sort of money.
“Everyone is welcome to come down and support us — especially any dads with young children who want to come down.
The match kicks off at 11am at Chapel Road, Hollinwood, followed by a funday at the Streetbridge Inn in Failsworth.
