Fans invade the pitch and surround Jean-Yves Mvoto after his winning goal
OLDHAM Athletic’s survival celebration was marred by a missile hurled at a visiting supporters’ coach and a pitch invasion before the final whistle.
Home supporters in the Rochdale Road Stand ran on to the pitch immediately after defender Jean-Yves M’voto headed a last-gasp winner against Crawley Town at Boundary Park. Club officials condemned the invasion.
Later a supporters’ coach was attacked and one of the windows smashed as Crawley fans prepared to travel home. Supporters on board were shaken but unhurt.
Athletic’s statement said expressed the club’s “extreme disappointment” over the incidents and that officials will look at CCTV footage to identify and take action against those involved.
