THE flag of St George was flying proudly over Oldham Civic Centre today as the borough celebrated the English patron saint’s day.
Oldham Mayor, Councillor Olwen Chadderton, hoisted a huge England flag in front of esteemed guests including standard bearers from the Armed Forces.
It continues the council’s long-standing policy of flying the flag on all Britain’s patron saint days.
