A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of mother-of-two Farkhanda Younis in Chadderton.
The man, believed to be the husband of 30-year-old Farkhanda, was taken into custody late last night and was awaiting questioning.
Farkhanda, known to her friends as Jabeen, was found dead at her home in Bamford Street on Friday morning after being stabbed several times in the throat.
A 20-year-old woman arrested on Saturday on suspicion of murder, remains on bail until Thursday.
Neighbours said that Farkhanda had come to Oldham from Pakistan several years ago and had recently left her second husband. She worked at a furniture store in Oldham and previously at Asda Chadderton.
