Raided . . . Zaika Restaurant in Alexandra
THREE men were arrested and firearms and ammunition seized in a police operation which raided six premises across Oldham, including a popular Indian restaurant.
As part of a crackdown on organised crime, police found huge amounts of cash and firearms.
Activity continued into Saturday, with the Zaika Restaurant at the junction of Park Road and Woodstock Street, Oldham, near Alexandra Park, becoming a focus.
The men were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and held in custody at the weekend before being bailed until June 5.
Assistant Chief Constable Steve Heywood said: “People will no doubt have seen this police activity
“I would like to thank the public for their patience as we continue with these inquiries.
“If people in the area have any information about those they believe may be involved in criminal gangs, then please speak to the police.”
