COUNCIL Leader Jim McMahon will address business leaders at the One Oldham Business Awards this evening and urge them to join forces with the council in tackling the creation of new employment opportunities in the borough.
Meanwhile, Cllr McMahon's controlling Labour group enjoyed a comfortable by-election success last night, holding on to Alexandra Ward with an increased majority.
On the sporting front, Latics boss Lee Johnson - closing in on a couple of signings - has received a boost as Aussie midfielder James Wesolowski is well on the road to recovery following shoulder surgery.
