Date published: 14 May 2013
DOZENS of Oldhamers now have heating and hot water, thanks to a £190,000 Government boost.
The council bid for money from the Department of Energy’s Change’s Fuel Poverty fund.
Recipients were identified and the work carried out in the winter months – giving some residents a warm home for the first time in years.
In total 43 full central heating systems were installed and 30 boilers replaced. Of the 37 households helped,, 37 previously had no heating.
