A TALENTED Oasis Academy Oldham pupil with a flair for business and fashion has been given a major boost by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).
Eric Bishyika (16), from Hollinwood, has built his own fashion brand SW clothing over the last two years.
His story is now featured on the CBI’s website as a case study of a teenage entrepreneur. The young businessman was also given a special tour of major clothing firm and CBI member JD Williams.
The connection followed a visit to the Hollins school by CBI North-West director Damian Waters earlier in the year.
David Heyes, Oasis Academy Oldham principal, said: “We are proud of Eric’s achievements.”
Year 11 student Eric gets up at 6am to run the academy’s equipment shop. He also sells his own hoodies, T-shirts and hats.
He is due to start the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy at Oldham College in September, an initiative set up by the “Dragons’ Den” TV personality.
“I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to promote my work through the CBI,” said Eric.
