Paul Sculthorpe receives his MBE from the Prince of Wales
OLDHAMER Paul Sculthorpe received the MBE in the New Years Honours List for his services to rugby and his charity work.
The 35-year-old, a former pupil at Counthill School, started his career with Warrington Wolves and made his England debut shortly after.
He soon moved to St Helen’s — with whom he won four Grand Finals, three Challenge Cups and two World Club Challenges — and was twice named Man of Steel. He was named captain of Great Britain in 2005.
He published his autobiography in 2007 and retired the year after.
