AN investigation has been launched into the contact police had with Farkhanda Younis before she was found dead in Chadderton on April 19.
According to police, Farkhanda (30) was found with multiple stab wounds at a house in Bamford Street.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) by the Greater Manchester force as there had been previous contact between them and Farkhanda.
IPCC commissioner for Greater Manchester, James Dipple-Johnstone, said: “Our investigation will review the contact she and her family had with the police in the months before her death, to see if their concerns were acted upon properly.”
Jahangir Nazar (34), of Bamford Street, Chadderton, has been charged with murder.
