A BLOOMING great splash of colour is taking over Limeside in one of the area’s biggest environmental campaigns.
Children joined volunteers and staff from Contour Homes to form a production line to plant 500 hanging baskets to brighten the Avenues and Hollins estate.
Young gardeners rolled up their sleeves at workshops at Avenues and Hollins Community Hall to plant the baskets.
The project, funded by Contour Homes, is part of a wider scheme to carry out environmental improvements on the estate.
Sarah Furbey, community development worker, said: “We’re very proud of the estate and we like to work with the community to help make sure it looks great. Producing hundreds of hanging baskets is no mean feat and it has been fantastic to see residents and volunteers pull together.”
