Couple’s delight as pet is returned

A Shaw couple are celebrating the return of their pet bulldog, Vinny, who was snatched in a burglary.

Simon Davis and Kayleigh Houghton left their Wren’s Nest home for a short time and returned to find the door kicked in and their six-month-old rescue pup gone.

Simon thanked the Chronicle for highlighting their plight on Tuesday: “The police did an amazing job. We are over the moon,” he said
