THIEVES have ransacked a bridal boutique in Lees and stolen designer wedding and bridesmaid dresses worth £15,000.
Five pastel-coloured vintage bridemaids dresses were stolen with 15 sample wedding dresses, unusual headpieces and even a dress on a mannequin in the window.
But Gemma Richardson and Vicky Tickle, owners of Isla Jean Bridal, said they would not let the break in at their High Street shop defeat them.
Gemma said: “It’s bizarre: they have cherry-picked the dresses they wanted.”
The shop opened last July: “We can’t believe this has happened to us so near our first birthday,” Gemma added. “It’s not a great present! Whoever did this are just scumbags.”
The dresses were stolen over the bank holiday weekend.
Anyone offered a dress by Erica Stacey, Stephanie Allin, Cymbeline or Button Belle should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111. The shop can be reached on 0161-622 1010.
