Striker tenancy row
Date published: 07 June 2013
PREMIERSHIP striker Lee Barnard, who is on loan at Oldham Athletic, has been accused of trying to kick tenants out of a block of flats he owns in Chelmsford.
The Southampton player bought a 14-bedroom townhouse that has been converted into flats.
The 11 people living in it received a letter saying that the water, gas and electric would be switched off and they had two weeks to leave.
Barnard (28) backed down after being told that the legal notice period to leave is two months.
