A CAMPAIGN to get the borough business-like and back to work is already earning its crust.
“Get Oldham Working” — launched at the One Oldham Business Awards in May — is asking local firms to help generate 2,015 jobs by 2015. Already 35 jobs have been created.
The team behind the initiative is working towards more than 1,300 employment opportunities from the 82 organisations that have pledged support.
Councillor Amanda Chadderton, Cabinet member for education, employment and skills, said: “We’re really encouraged by the early response. We know collective action will be key, so it’s inspiring to see so many local businesses and organisations are already buying into this vision.”
