Jobless drop below 8,000

UNEMPLOYMENT in Oldham has fallen again.
There are now 7,900 people out of work in the borough — 87 down on last month, which was the first time since December that the total had dropped below 8,000.
Oldham now has 5.6 per cent of the working-age population out of a job: 5,187 men (down 38 on last month), and 2,713 women, down 49.
