ON show . . . The Rugby League World Cup at Mahdlo, with England’s Kevin Sinfield, along with Terry Flanagan, Roughyeds players and youngsters
YOUNGSTERS had a ball in the presence of an Oldham legend at Mahdlo’s Rugby League World Cup.
England captain and former Waterhead junior player Kevin Sinfield returned to his roots to inspire young people at the youth zone event.
Terry Flanagan, another Oldham rugby league great and Mahdlo’s chairman, joined the Leeds Rhinos star and Oldham Roughyeds players in sharing their tales of rugby stardom, as well as watching starlets battle it out in a tag rugby tournament.
The event was part of Mahdlo’s “Try, Train, Team” programme, which encourages young people to scrum on down and try a sport.
