DIY store plan for Village
Date published: 21 June 2013
A CONTROVERSIAL development to convert a former Moorside pub into a DIY store looks set to go ahead.
The Village Inn, Ripponden Road, has twice seen plans rejected and a council investigation after residents claimed building work had started without permission before Oldham Planning Committee decides its fate on June 26.
Muhammad Amjad, the owner’s agent said the work that has taken place conforms to the rules.
“A planning officer has seen me and is satisfied. We have been cleaning out the ground floor. There have been no other changes.”
A spokesman for Oldham Council said an investigation is still taking place into the complaint.
