OLYMPIC stars are set to pack a few punches at the opening of Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Club.
The venture, led by Eric Noi, has attracted some of the biggest names in British sport, with Team GB’s 2012 boxing captain Tom Stalker topping the bill. The light-welterweight is among people due to attend the Victoria House event tomorrow, as are Rob McCracken, performance director of the Great Britain boxing team.
Bury’s Scott Quigg, Denton Vassell and Anthony Crolla — taking time out from his preparations to fight former world champion Gavin Rees - will also attend, as will local rugby league star Kevin Sinfield and union’s Kyle Eastmond.
Eric said: “I’m delighted this day has finally arrived — it is the culmination of years of hard work from everyone associated with the club.
“I’m especially pleased to have the support of so many talented sports people — they know places like this can make a difference to people’s lives.”
