M60 jump threat drama

THE M60 was closed at Chadderton this morning when a man threatened to jump off a bridge.

Drivers faced traffic chaos when the motorway was closed clockwise at junction 19 (Heaton Park) and anti-clockwise at junction 22 (Hollinwood).

Police were called shortly before 7.20am, when a man was spotted on the wrong side of the railings. He was escorted to safety and the road reopened 40 minutes later
