Families evacuated after gas leak

A PUB and nine homes were evacuated in Dobcross following a gas leak on Friday afternoon.

Contractors installing a water main near The Navigation Inn, on Wool Road cut into a low-pressure pipe shortly after 2pm.

People were evacuated to Uppermill Civic Hall but were allowed to return four hours later.

Wool Road was closed in both directions during the repairs
