ATTACKED . . . Abrar Ahmad (left) and his friend Hamza Ali
A FAMILY has been left traumatised by a vicious and unprovoked attack.
Abrar Ahmad and his friend was beaten by around 30 youths in A&K Off Licence in Oldham Road, Shaw, on Tuesday night.
His wife Rizwana Begum revealed that nothing was stolen but her husband was “left for dead” following the ambush.
Mr Ahmad (31) was in Hope Hospital, Salford for several days for treatment to face and body injuries after being kicked while he was on the ground.
His wife saw the gang hanging around the shop entrance that evening: “I warned my husband that around 20 to 30 youths were outside and to it might be a good idea to put the shutters down early in case something happened.
“When I left the room, that’s when they attacked my husband and his friend Hamza Ali. My husband was struck from behind with what we think might have been a baseball bat. We can’t understand why it happened; it was completely unprovoked.”
The youths were causing a disturbance in the shop and became abusive after being asking to leave. One threw a drink in Abrar’s face before attacking the friends. Mr Ali was also injured.
