ON the ball: coach Pete Wild (front, right) visits St Joseph’s School with some of his team
PLAYING football on crutches is pretty tricky — as pupils at St Joseph’s Primary School discovered when members of the Great Britain amputee soccer squad visited with their coach, Oldhamer Pete Wild.
The players gave children a motivational talk and explained how they came to be amputees.
Deputy head Steve Hill said: “The children really enjoyed the visit. Pete and his players are so inspiring — and make great role models for our pupils.
“We’re really pleased they could take the time to come to school.”
