Fall sparks M62 chaos

MOTORISTS suffered long delays on the M62 after a woman fell from a bridge on to the eastbound carriageway yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the bridge, a mile before junction 23, at 4.43pm. The motorway was closed between Saddleworth and Huddersfield while a helicopter recovered the woman, whose who taken to Leeds General Hospital with serious leg injuries.
