RSPCA APPEAL
IT’S a feline frenzy at RSPCA Oldham as staff attempt to rehome a record number of cats and kittens.
The centre, in Rhodes Bank, is currently home to 46 cats that have either been dumped, abandoned or brought in by inspectors.
Branch manager, Lee Speed said: “It’s really important that people realise the importance of the welfare work the RSPCA carries out by neutering and vaccinating cats. We currently have around 46 cats and kittens in the shelter and we are at maximum capacity so we desperately need to hear from people who can foster or adopt them.
“You’d be making a huge difference to their lives and to the charity.”
Apollo is one of the cats looking for a good home. He was brought into the centre after he was attacked by a dog and had to have his left eye removed.
An x-ray revealed that Apollo also had a pellet lodged in his leg so he walks with a limp.
The four-year-old is stressed by the cattery environment and is looking for a peaceful home where he can rest.
Apollo has started to overgroom himself because he is missing human contact and he loves to be held and stroked.
Anyone interested in adopting or fostering Apollo can call 0161-624 4725 extension 203 or send an email to office@rspcaburyandoldham.org.uk or an imalcare@rspcaburyandoldham.org.uk
