AN online pubwatch scheme has been launched to ban bad behaviour from Oldham’s boozers.
The scheme, which follows a stabbing in Yorkshire Street on July 6, is part of a national programme highlighting bad behaviour.
Troublemakers may be banned from all premises displaying the pubwatch sign, and Oldham Council will impose an ASBO or drinking banning order (DBO).
The banned list can then be distributed to all online members within Greater Manchester to help reduce crime and disorder.
Oldham pubwatch members have also agreed to consider funding for a new mobile rest and recovery service. The service will provide first-aid support to relieve pressure on A&E.
Oldham Street Angels say they are happy to support the venture.
Terry Bruce, Oldham Pubwatch online co-ordinator, said: “The incident on July 6 was terrible and we are offering our full support and co-operation to the police and other services to help bring to task the criminals involved.”
