THE borough has one of the highest rates of dog attacks on post deliverers in the region.
Out of 12 areas in the North West, Oldham came third-worst with 20 attacks, just ahead of Stockport and Manchester with 23 attacks each in the year to April. Around 150 postmen and women were involved in dog-related incidents.
Royal Mail revealed the statistic as part of a regional dog awareness week, in which owners are being asked to keep their animals under control.
