A JUNGLE adventure beckons for intrepid school teacher Steve Hill.
Pupils from his Year 6 class at St Joseph’s Primary School in Shaw, entered into the spirit as they prepared to bid him bon voyage for his trip to Borneo.
The adventurous deputy head has had the support of the youngsters as he prepared for another arduous challenge to boost the fundraising schemes of his class.
Mr Hill (41) will head deep into the tropical rainforests of Borneo and climb Mount Kanabalu - the highest mountain in South East Asia at 13,435ft. He will return from his 12-day adventure on August 11.
The money raised by sponsorship will go into the fund collected by his class during the school year, to be split between Cancer Research UK, pupil Shane Keating (who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy), the charity CAFOD and PKD UK (which supports sufferers of polysystic kidney disease. Anyone who wants to make a donation can do so at the website www.just giving.com/Stephen-Hill9.
