Heather Hunt - that’s not the school unifrm, by the way - starts the race
A BROKEN ankle inspired Radclyffe School students to put their best feet forward for charity.
Students and staff decided to raise cash for the North West Air Ambulance by holding a three-legged race. The race was set up after year manager Heather Hunt fell while walking at Dovestone Reservoir and had to be airlifted to the Royal Oldham Hospital.
When she told students, they thought it would be fun to get into teams of two and race to the finish line in fancy dress.
Students raised £1,000 by paying £1 to take part or watch, as well as taking part in a non-uniform day.
Heather said: “The Air Ambulance did a fantastic job when I needed them. We’re really proud of our students.”
The air ambulance is entirely funded by donations.
