CRASH scene . . . the Rochdale Road accident
A SHOP assistant had a lucky escape when a car ploughed into a High Crompton shop.
The assistant, the son of the owner of the Top Shop off-licence on Rochdale Road, was inside when a Ford Fiesta crashed into the doorway and wall on Friday afternoon.
The driver of the car had been in collision with a Skoda Fabia. Neither of the woman drivers — one of them pregnant — suffered life-threatening injuries but both were taken to The Royal Oldham Hospital with neck and back pain.
The crash caused serious damage to the shop and partially demolished the doorway.
