A great place to be

GREAT Places Housing Group, which has 1,700 homes in Oldham, has been rated the 12th-best large workplace in the whole of Europe.

The housing association was rated among firms from countries including Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Greece and France and sectors including IT, engineering, hospitality and retail.

It was the second-highest UK company on the list after first-placed financial services company Capital One.

Great Places has an office in Union Street and is a partner in the town’s £113 million Gateways To Oldham PFI initiative.

Chief executive Matthew Harrison said: “This is another amazing result — we know we rank highly among other UK companies but this is real proof we really shine on the European stage too.

“Everyone at Great Places should be really proud of what we’ve achieved so far together.”
