£6.7m homes scheme out of starting blocks
Date published: 25 July 2013
WORK is finally starting on a £6.7 million housing development -— five years after it fell victim to the recession.
Construction Partnership UK is carrying out preliminary works on the Lumb Mill development, Delph.
The scheme will create 46 homes at Lumb Mill in phases over the next two years.
Steve Burke, managing director of Skelmersdale-based CPUK, said: “We were first appointed to build homes on this site five years ago; then the recession hit and the project became one of its victims.
“So it is really encouraging to see that homes are now finally going to be built on the site and we’re delighted that we’ve been appointed to see the job through after it has been on the back burner for so long.
“It’s another strong indication of how things are moving in all sectors of construction in the region.”
