Double delight for first-class twins

MARK and Michael Arrowsmith achieved twin-credible success at the University of Warwick.

The former Crompton House pupils both gained first-class Masters degrees in mathematics.

Mark said: “Being at Warwick together has significantly helped because we’ve always had each other to help if we needed it.”

The twins admitted to there being a little rivalry over their academic careers - but believe the competition played a part in encouraging them to work hard.

Mark said: “We always helped each other out in our studies and revision during our time at Warwick. Over Easter when people don’t see their course mates we were able to revise together the whole time.”

Michael added: “I think being at Warwick together has benefited us outside of education too.

“We share mates and having lived together for the last three years, it’s been handy to be able to split cooking, washing up and bills down the middle.”

Mark said: “Originally, I don’t think we put much thought into whether we wanted to go to the same university, but in hindsight it was pretty inevitable.”

Michael now plans to head to London to work on data analysis for a major financial company, while Mark will be joining the Scottish Widows Investment Partnership’s graduate programme as a trainee investment manager.
