Hail to the ale

CHEERS! Greenfield Brewery was delighted to win gold and silver prizes for their ales.

The brewery’s Silver Owl ale won top prize and Vanilla Stout came second after judges sampled the brews at Oldham Beer Festival.

Bronze went to the Mossley-based Millstone Brewery’s True Grit. The Ashton Arms, in Greaves Street, won the Pub of the Year award.

Prizes were handed out by Mike Robinson from the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale.
