HUNDREDS of Latics fans packed into Oldham town centre yesterday to meet their idols as the boys in blue get set for the new season.
Players had their photograph taken and signed autographs ahead of their first game away at Stevenage this Saturday.
The queue to meet the team took over the top floor of the Spindles shopping centre yesterday afternoon.
Latics manager Lee Johnson said: “It was a fantastic turnout. It was nice to see the queues snaking all round the shopping centre.
“The support from the public has been great. I’ve certainly appreciated it, and I know the lads do as well. There’s nothing better than to see the players mingling with their public like this.
“It’s very important too. The lads can really get a feel for how important they are to this town.”
